"20 Under 20" Class Honored at 21st Century Leaders' 2014 Georgia Youth Leadership Awards
-- Top Georgia High School Students Recognized for Business and Community Leadership Skills --

ATLANTA (Feb. 28, 2014) – The 21st Century Leaders – a Georgia-based leadership development program for high school students – recognized its “20 Under 20” Class of 2014 at the annual Georgia Youth Leadership Awards Thursday, Feb. 27.

The awards celebrate 20 of Georgia’s premier high school students whose business and community leadership skills have left an impact on communities not only state-wide, but nationally and internationally as well.

In addition to announcing this year’s “20 Under 20” class, 21st Century Leaders presented Kashish Gupta with the Turner Voices Innovative Leadership Award – the event’s top award which includes a $1,000 mini-grant. Gupta is the founder of Small World Learning, a project that serves under-privileged classrooms in countries including India, Guatemala, Nicaragua and South Africa by helping improve their education system.

The event also gave students the opportunity to network with several area business leaders by pairing them with the banquet’s sponsors during the dinner portion.

Duffey Communications, an annual event sponsor, was paired with “20 Under 20” recipient Tiffani Alexander and 21st Century Leadership Council member, Armand Champion-Young.

Alexander was recognized for her project, Butterflies, Beetles and Bees, Oh My! – a club that takes a creative approach to combating child abuse. And Champion-Young closed the awards show with a thank you speech.

“It was an honor to sponsor an event that celebrates the innovation and leadership of Georgia’s next-generation,” says Sherri Fallin, president and CEO of Duffey Communications. “All of us at Duffey are excited to watch these students continue their development as 21st Century Leaders.”
