Duffey Communications supported Boston Market on a range of public relations activities as it relates to key special events and product-specific awareness:
Boston Market in Atlanta -- Grand Opening
Boston Market charged Duffey with producing an invitation to stimulate the community leader attendance to the grand opening of the first Boston Chicken restaurant in Atlanta. Duffey identified the target audiences to be local elected officials, key charity heads and print media within a 10-mile radius of the restaurant and VIP's from Market's corporate headquarters. Duffey developed and mailed invitations and supplied extras to Boston Market for handout to key contacts prior to the opening. Attendance for the grand opening was 221 percent above goal. According to Boston Market, this was the company's most successful opening event. Corporate headquarters personnel adopted the invitation as the company-wide standard for future openings.
Family Meal Pack
Duffey was recruited by Boston Market to boost sales of the restaurant’s family meal packages and large dinner orders by selecting a memorable specialty item for franchises as a part of a seasonal promotion. Duffey developed the Boston "Chic-Nic" Basket promotion for implementation in mid-summer and selected 1,000 picnic baskets to offer as sales premium items accompanying large-dinner purchases at the stores. The promotion was a tremendous success. Each of the stores, which also distributed maps to nearby parks, sold out of its allotment of picnic baskets within one week of the promotion kickoff. The activity generated an increase in large dinner orders that was 43 percent above projections. Overall return on investment for the activity was 152 percent.
